UK ‘relying too heavily’ on sat-navs
Report by the Royal Academy of Engineers revealed that the UK is ‘dangerously dependant’ on GPS satellite navigation systems. A study found that sat-navs often come with inadequate back up and there is equipment available to illegally jam systems. The Global Navigation Space System affects all methods of travel including road, rail and shipping equipment and it’s thought a system failure could lead to serious accidents.
